Are paintings necessary for our lives?
During the pandemic, I received special words from many people, such as “I wish I had your painting in my place.” and ” I feel like if I make it my goal to have your work, it will get me through this difficult time.”
Just so happy to hear such words and in order to respond to such feelings, I’ve started to working on small paintings as part of my daily routine.
I aimed to create a painting that could be displayed freely and easily in any place, in any direction, as they pleased.
絵画は生活に必要とされているのだろうか。
パンデミックという特殊な時間の中で、「うちのこの壁ににあなたの絵があればと思う。」「作品を手にする事を目標にすれば、この大変な時期を乗り切ることができる気がする。」といった特別な言葉をたくさんの方から頂戴した。そんな時にそんな言葉をかけてもらうことが嬉しくて、その思いに応えるには、と、日課のように小さな絵を描き続けた。
個々が休まる場所で、好きなように、縦横無尽に、自由に気軽に飾ることが出来る絵を目指して。
